This beautiful Napa Valley residence, just inside of St. Helena, is situated on three acres and surrounded by vineyards.
With its surroundings providing the perfect French Country backdrop, Jona took a cue from the scenery and the home’s rustic charm, and incorporated period antiques and Pierre Frey fabrics.
Because the family loves toile, it became the theme in the home’s bedrooms. For a look that’s quintessentially French Provencal, the green Pastimes toile from Robert Allen was used in the girls’ room, black toile in the bath and the blue Pierre Frey toile in the master bedroom.
The living room and family room’s original French Provencal feel was brought together by the Majolica Collection, the soft colors in the Brunschwig & Fils fabric, and the Maison de Campagne fabrics and trims. The newly installed fireplace, reminiscent of the limestone blocks used in the chateaus in France, is quite the focal point among the French antique furniture pieces.
A c. 1800 Panettiere, purchased on one of the clients’ many trips to France, was once used to store and keep the crusty breads from mice and other small creatures. Here, it points toward the rustic wood-beam ceiling and gives the space a sense of history. The c. 1880 French high back chairs, covered in the coral Hunting toile by Brunschwig & Fils, add fresh color and pattern.
